Monday, April 6
Good morning. Breathe.
Easter week is over. The I-4 westbound traffic looks like a parking lot. Checkout lines at the resort lobbies are ten deep. And the parks — for the first time in nine days — are about to remember what moderate crowds feel like.
If you're still here today or tomorrow, congratulations. You played the calendar right. Yesterday's issue covered the post-Easter playbook. Today we're pivoting to something that could save you hundreds of dollars on a summer trip — and most families haven't seen it yet.
Your Disney+ subscription is about to pay for itself.
Here's what matters today.
🎯 Top Story
Your Disney+ Subscription Just Paid for Itself.
Disney quietly dropped a resort hotel deal last week that most families missed — and it's only available to Disney+ subscribers.
If you're enrolled in the free Disney+ Perks program (and if you're not, go do it right now — it takes 30 seconds inside your Disney+ account), you can book Walt Disney World resort rooms this summer starting at $99 per night.
Here's the breakdown:
$99/night — Disney's All-Star Sports Resort (Standard Room)
$169/night — Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside (5th Sleeper Room)
$249/night — Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Cars Family Suite)
$279/night — Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (Deluxe Studio)
$369/night — Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savanna View)
Valid for most nights June 21 through August 15, 2026. Two-night minimum. Consecutive nights. Bookings are live right now.
That Animal Kingdom Lodge rate is the one that should stop you. A savanna view room — where giraffes and zebras walk past your balcony at sunrise — for $369 a night in peak summer. That room regularly runs well over $500. And you're getting it because you pay $10 a month for Disney+.
Here's where it gets better.
This deal stacks with the 2026 Kids Dining Plan offer. Purchase a Disney Dining Plan for the adults in your party and kids ages 3-9 eat free. Combine a $99/night room with free kids' dining and you're looking at one of the cheapest on-property Disney vacations in years. Those two deals together change the math on a summer trip entirely.
And every resort guest staying between May 26 and September 8 gets free water park admission on check-in day. So your $99 room also comes with a free day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. Both parks will be open this summer.
How to actually book this.
You have to be enrolled in Disney+ Perks before you can access the deal. Here's the process:
Log into your Disney+ account. Navigate to the Perks page (you can find it under your profile or search "Disney+ Perks" on disneyplus.com). Activate Perks — it's free for all Disney+ subscribers. Then follow the booking link from the Perks page to access the discounted resort rates. The deal will not show up if you just search disneyworld.com directly. You must access it through the Perks portal.
If you just signed up for Disney+, wait about an hour before trying to access the Perks page — the system needs time to sync your subscription.
The catch? A few room types are excluded: 3-Bedroom Villas, all Deluxe Resort Suites, Standard Location rooms at Port Orleans Riverside, Little Mermaid Standard rooms at Art of Animation, and Resort View and Water View rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge. But the core room types at every tier are included.
One more thing: This deal cannot be combined with other room discounts. But it CAN be combined with the Kids Dining Plan offer — which is the combination that makes this genuinely compelling. The two together represent the best overall value for a family summer trip we've seen since before the pandemic.
The move: If you've been on the fence about a summer trip, this is the deal that tips it. The $99 rooms at All-Star Sports will go first — they always do. The Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna view rooms won't last either. Book now, lock in the rate, and stack the kids' dining offer on top. You can always cancel later if plans change, but you can't get these rates back once they sell out.
The families saving the most on Disney vacations aren't lucky. They're paying attention.
No poll today. Forward this issue to someone planning a summer trip. The Disney+ room deal alone could save them $500.
⚡ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Jellyrolls Announces New Location — The legendary dueling piano bar that closed at Disney's BoardWalk last April is officially returning. A new venue is under construction in Lake Buena Vista, less than 10 minutes from its former home. Grand opening planned for late summer or early fall 2026. Free parking, rideshare drop-off at the door, same 21+ format, same specialty cocktails, same signature popcorn. If you miss that energy, it's coming back.
Buzz Lightyear Official Reopening: Wednesday — After weeks of soft openings, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin officially reopens April 8 with handheld blasters, haptic feedback, new interactive targets, the Buddy robot in the opening scene, and on-ride PhotoPass that displays your score and rank. If you've been waiting for the official date, this is it. Expect day-one lines, but post-Easter crowd levels should keep it manageable.
Disney Springs Store Closure Announced — A permanent closure has been announced for a Disney Springs retail location. Details are still emerging, but if you have a favorite shop at Disney Springs, it's worth checking whether it's on the list before your next visit. We'll update with specifics as Disney confirms.
Tuesday's 69-Degree Weather Is a Gift — The sharp cooldown continues tomorrow with a high of only 69°F. Combined with post-Easter crowd levels, Tuesday could be the single best park day of the entire month. If you're still on property, don't waste it at the pool. Get to the parks.
Daily Disney Insider Tip
The post-Easter reservation drop is happening right now.
As thousands of families check out today and cancel their remaining dining reservations, the MDE app is flooding with availability that didn't exist 48 hours ago. Restaurants that were completely booked through Easter week — Be Our Guest, Space 220, 'Ohana, Topolino's Terrace — are showing same-day and next-day openings.
Open the app right now. Search for tomorrow. You might be shocked at what's available.
This window is short. By Wednesday, the post-Easter cancellation wave will have settled and the remaining availability will reflect normal spring demand. But today and tomorrow? It's a dining reservation fire sale. Take advantage.
📊 Today's Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom — Moderate. The drop is real. It's not calm-week light, but it's dramatically better than Thursday or Friday. Afternoon should feel genuinely manageable for the first time in over a week.
EPCOT — Moderate. Festival draws keep it slightly busier than the other parks, but the Easter families are gone. Booth lines are short. World Showcase is walkable. This is the EPCOT you've been wanting.
Animal Kingdom — Light-Moderate. Quietest park on property today. If you skipped AK during Easter week, today is the make-up day. Safaris, Lion King, trails — do it all without stress.
Hollywood Studios — Moderate. Rise of the Resistance is the morning question. If it's running, today's lighter crowds give you a real shot at a sub-45-minute wait. Tower and Slinky Dog should be walk-on adjacent by early afternoon.
Strategy: Today is the transition. Tomorrow is the payoff. If you have two days left, use today for the park you missed during Easter and save Magic Kingdom for tomorrow when it should be at its lightest. Tuesday MK with post-Easter crowds and 69-degree weather? That's the day you came here for.
🌤 7-Day Weather Forecast — Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Trend: Monday's storms will chase the last of the Easter families out. Tuesday and Wednesday are genuinely cool for April in Florida — bring a light jacket, especially for evening. By Thursday the temps start climbing back to normal. The cold front and the crowd drop are perfectly synchronized this week. If you can be in the parks Tuesday or Wednesday, you're getting the best combination of weather and attendance the spring calendar has to offer.
🎯 Final Take
A $10 monthly Disney+ subscription. A $99 hotel room. Free kids' dining. Free water park on check-in day. Early Entry to the parks every morning. Lightning Lane booking seven days before arrival.
Add it up and a family of four can stay on Disney property this summer for less than most off-site hotels charge — and get perks that off-site guests can't buy at any price.
Disney doesn't advertise this deal on billboards. They don't run TV commercials for it. They put it behind a free enrollment page inside an app most families already have and hope the right people find it.
You just found it.
Book it before the $99 rooms are gone.
See you tomorrow.
