Step two: submit your room request early — ideally 30 to 60 days before arrival. You can do this during online check-in through the My Disney Experience app, but the dropdown options are limited — usually just "near elevator," "near lobby," or "ground floor." For anything more specific, use the chat feature in the app. Click the menu icon, go to Help and Feedback, select "Chat With Us," and type your request directly. This method has been the most reliable way to get specific requests noted on your reservation since Disney stopped accepting faxes in 2023.

Step three: keep your request list short. The fewer requests you make, the more likely they'll be honored. Pick your top one or two priorities and make them crystal clear. "High floor with a pool view" is better than a list of six preferences. Disney's room assignment team doesn't rank your wishes — they look at the whole request and try to find a match. The simpler you make it, the easier it is for them to say yes.

Step four: know what to ask for. Here's what actually matters by resort tier:

At the value resorts (Pop Century, All-Stars), request "preferred" building if you didn't book a preferred room — you might get it anyway. At Pop Century specifically, request "close to Skyliner" if that's your transportation plan. The difference between a 2-minute walk and a 12-minute walk to the station is real.

At the moderate resorts (Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs), request a specific section by name. At Caribbean Beach, "Trinidad South near Skyliner" is a smart play. At Coronado Springs, "Gran Destino Tower" puts you closest to dining and the convention center.

At the deluxe resorts, the request game gets more interesting. At Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can request a savanna view even if you booked standard — there are limited standard rooms, and Disney sometimes upgrades. At Beach Club, request a full balcony — roughly half the rooms have tiny balconies that barely fit a chair. At the Grand Floridian, request an upper floor on the theme park side for a fireworks view from your room.

What you cannot guarantee through requests: connecting rooms (request them, but don't count on it), specific room numbers, or anything that contradicts your booking category. Calm Week Starts Tomorrow — Florida local schools go back to session Monday. AP blockouts lift. The Easter wave doesn't arrive until March 30.
