Good morning and Happy Birthday to LB!
Spring break week one is officially in the rearview. The local Florida families are packing up, the Orange County kids go back to school Monday, and the parks are about to get a breather that lasts approximately... five days.
Enjoy it. Because the Easter wave starts March 30 and it's going to make this week look quaint.
But before we get to that β let's talk about the pirate bar that has become the hardest reservation in Magic Kingdom. And why it's worth every minute of the 45 they'll give you.
Here's what matters today.

The Beak and Barrel: Magic Kingdom's First Real Bar Is Exactly as Good (and Chaotic) as You've Heard
Let's get the obvious out of the way: Magic Kingdom finally has a bar where you can order a cocktail without sitting through a full dinner at Be Our Guest. Only took them 55 years.
The Beak and Barrel is a pirate-themed lounge tucked right next to Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland, and it is β in the most Morning Brew way I can say this β an absolute vibe. The theming is ludicrous. Rummy the animatronic parrot squawks orders from above the bar. Pirate cast members stay in character the entire time. A storm rolls through mid-visit with lightning effects and crew members scrambling to secure loose bottles. It's dinner theater except the theater is a pirate tavern and the dinner is corn griddle cakes.
What to order: The Cook's Corn Griddle Cakes with chipotle-braised chicken ($14) are the star β warm, cheesy, stuffed with melted cheese and topped with lime sour cream, chili peppers, and cotija. Fair warning: the chili peppers have actual heat. This isn't Disney-spicy. The Salty Seas mARRRgarita ($20) is the cocktail most people default to β tequila, Cointreau, ube, and lime. It's refreshing and solid. If you don't drink, the Treasure Trove mocktail ($13.75) β ube, lemon, coconut, topped with vanilla cake, a chocolate cannonball, and golden caramel popcorn β is genuinely one of the best non-alcoholic drinks on Disney property.
What to know before you go: You have 45 minutes. That's it. The clock starts when you're seated and Disney enforces it. Order your drinks immediately β if you want two, order them at the same time or back-to-back. Waiting for your first drink to arrive before ordering the second is how you end up chugging a margarita while a pirate cast member politely asks you to leave. There's also no guarantee you'll get a seat β some spots are standing-only, similar to Oga's Cantina.
How to get in: Reservations only, and they're brutal. Check the My Disney Experience app repeatedly β cancellations pop up, especially same-day. Smaller parties (2 people) have the best shot at snagging a last-minute opening. We've seen availability appear as late as 30 minutes before a time slot.
Is it worth it? Yes. Emphatically. If you like Trader Sam's energy dialed up to a 7, with better food and the novelty of drinking a cocktail inside Magic Kingdom for the first time in the park's history β this is a must-do. Just know the rules going in and order fast.

β‘ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Grand Floridian Cafe Closing Mid-July for a Multi-Month Refresh β The fan-favorite restaurant at Disney's Grand Floridian will shut down from mid-July through October 2026 for a full refurbishment. Brunch service will temporarily move to CΓtricos during the closure. If you have a Grand Floridian Cafe reservation for summer, double-check your dates. All other Grand Floridian dining stays open.
Wilderness Lodge Boat Dock Closing April 13 β The dock at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is closing for routine maintenance from April 13 through late July. Boat transportation to Magic Kingdom will be suspended April 13 through May 1, then resume even while dock work continues. If you're staying at Wilderness Lodge this spring, plan on bus transportation to MK for those first few weeks.
Digital Pricing Comes to Disney Springs β Disney has introduced digital pricing displays at select Disney Springs locations. This is a quiet operational change that makes dynamic pricing easier to implement. For now it's just displays β but it's worth watching whether this signals more frequent price changes on merchandise.
Buzz Lightyear Video Released β Disney dropped a behind-the-scenes video of the refurbished Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin this week. The new targets, blasters, and Buddy character all look sharp. Cast member playtests are underway. April 8 reopening is on track, and soft openings could start as early as late March.
Daily Disney Insider Tip
The quiet week starts Monday. Here's how to take advantage.
We've been talking about March 23β27 for over a week now. It arrives Monday. Florida's local schools are back in session, the AP blockouts lift, and the Easter crowd hasn't arrived yet. This is the gap.
Here's how to maximize it: book your Magic Kingdom day for Tuesday or Wednesday (midweek is always lighter than the edges). Use Monday for EPCOT β the festival will feel noticeably calmer without the local passholder traffic. Save Hollywood Studios for the evening any day β Extended Evening Hours on Wednesday, March 25 will be the crown jewel of the week for Deluxe resort guests.
If you haven't booked dining reservations yet, check now. The calm week means more availability is likely to appear as families cancel their plans. Restaurants that were showing zero openings a week ago might suddenly have tables.
π Today's Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom β Heavy. Last Saturday of spring break week one. Beautiful weather means everyone is out. Standard Saturday playbook: rope drop or last 90 minutes.
EPCOT β Heavy. Weekend festival crowds at their peak. The back half of World Showcase after 7pm is your move.
Animal Kingdom β Moderate-Heavy. Warm weather, outdoor layout, and good vibes. Rope drop Safaris or Flight of Passage β same drill.
Hollywood Studios β Heavy. Rise, Tower, Slinky Dog. You know the routine by now.
Strategy: If you're here through Monday, today is the grind day and Monday is the reward. Survive the Saturday crowds knowing that significantly shorter lines are 48 hours away. Pace yourself. You're almost there.
π€ 7 Day Weather Forecast for Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Trend: Wall-to-wall good weather through the calm week. No extreme heat, no cold snaps, no storms on the horizon. Monday through Friday is shaping up to be the best sustained stretch of weather and crowd conditions since early March. If you're still here, you won the lottery and probably didn't even know it.
Magic Kingdom spent 55 years as the only Disney park where you couldn't get a real drink at a bar. Then they opened one themed to pirates, gave you 45 minutes, hired cast members who stay in character the entire time, and made the corn griddle cakes actually good.
The Beak and Barrel isn't just a bar. It's Disney finally admitting that adults deserve a place to sit down, order something strong, and watch an animatronic parrot yell at the staff while a fake thunderstorm rattles the building.
Was it worth the 55-year wait? Honestly? Kind of, yeah.
Order fast. Tip well. And don't fight the 45-minute clock β it's a pirate's life, after all.
See you tomorrow.
