Thursday, March 19
Good morning.
The weather is warming back up — 74°F today, mid-70s tomorrow, low 80s by the weekend. The hoodie era was fun while it lasted.
Spring break week one is winding down but week two is already loading into the chamber. If you thought this week was crowded, the next two weeks leading into Easter are projected to be worse.
But there's a brief window hiding between the waves that almost nobody is talking about.
Here's what matters today.

March 23–27: The Hidden Calm Week That Spring Break Planners Keep Missing
We've mentioned this before, but it's close enough now to matter: the five-day stretch from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27 is projected to be noticeably lighter than the weeks on either side of it.
Here's why: Florida's local school districts — the 300,000 students in Orange and Osceola counties who flood the parks every spring — go back to class on Monday the 23rd. Their spring break ends this week. At the same time, the massive Easter wave (March 30–April 6) hasn't arrived yet. The result is a brief gap where the only spring breakers in the parks are out-of-state visitors whose school calendars happen to land on that week.
The data backs it up: no Annual Pass tiers are blocked out during March 23–27. When Disney doesn't block its own passholders, that's them telling you they don't expect peak-level crowds. Compare that to this week and next, where Pirate Pass and Pixie Dust Pass holders are locked out entirely.
The move: If you have any flexibility — even a day or two — shifting park days into that window could dramatically improve your experience. We're talking about the difference between 90-minute waits and 45-minute waits on the same rides. If you're already booked for that week, congratulations. You accidentally picked one of the best windows of the entire spring.

⚡ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Garden View Tea Room Opened Yesterday — Early reports from opening day are positive. The Alice in Wonderland theming is well-executed and the tea service feels genuinely special. If you didn't get a reservation, keep checking the app — Disney dropped new availability on opening day for Beak & Barrel and is likely doing the same here.
Buzz Lightyear Cast Member Playtests Underway — Walt Disney World cast members are being invited to playtest the refurbished Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin ahead of the April 8 reopening. When Disney starts internal testing a month early, soft openings for the public often follow within 2-3 weeks. Keep your eyes on the app if you're visiting in late March.
Tower of Terror Permit Filed — Disney's facilities team filed a new construction permit for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. No details on the scope of work yet, but any permit activity on a major headliner is worth watching. This could be routine maintenance or something more interesting.
Contemporary Resort Exterior Refurb Starts March 23 — The iconic A-frame tower is getting exterior work starting next week. Guests will still be staying in the building and the monorail will still run through it. Expect scaffolding and construction walls on the outside. If you're booked there, your stay won't be affected — but your photos might be.
Daily Disney Insider Tip
The Flower & Garden Festival booth strategy that saves you time and money.
Most visitors hit the EPCOT Outdoor Kitchens the same way — they start at the front of World Showcase, buy something at every booth they pass, and by Mexico they're full, broke, and wondering why they spent $14 on arancini at the Italy booth that tasted like disappointment.
Here's the smarter play: skip the first three booths you see. Walk past them. The lines are longest at the booths nearest the entrance because everyone hits them first. The booths in the back half of World Showcase — Japan's Hanami, the American pavilion's Magnolia Terrace, France's Fleur de Lys — consistently have shorter lines and better food.
The best items this year based on early reviews: the Frushi at Hanami, the Shrimp Po'Boy at Magnolia Terrace, the Honey-Glazed Cauliflower at Honey Bee-Stro, and the Frozen Violet Lemonade at Pineapple Promenade (it's back and it's still worth the hype). Skip the Italy booth's pasta salad — same letdown as last year.
Pro tip: Hit the booths between 4–5pm or after 8pm when lines are shortest. The 11am–2pm window is a war zone.
📊 Today's Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom — Heavy. Spring break continues. Premier Pass sold out again. The 11pm close gives you a long evening window — use it.
EPCOT — Heavy. Festival booths are packed midday. The back half of World Showcase thins out after 7pm. GEO 82 if you can get a reservation.
Animal Kingdom — Moderate-Heavy. Warming weather makes the outdoor layout more comfortable again. Morning Safaris, Flight of Passage by 9:30am.
Hollywood Studios — Heavy. Rise, Tower, Slinky Dog — all 60-90 minute waits by mid-morning. Rope drop Rise, then hit Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania while the crowd is still stacking at the headliners.
Strategy: Tomorrow is shaping up to be the best weather day of the week — 78°F, mostly sunny, low rain chance. If you can hold one park day in reserve, save your biggest outdoor park for Friday. Today is a strong day for EPCOT (festival food in the evening) or Hollywood Studios (everything indoors).
🌤 Day Weather Forecast for Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Trend: Steady climb from here through the weekend. Friday is the standout — clear skies, comfortable temps, and the kind of day that makes you forget what 61°F on Tuesday felt like. The weekend stays warm and mostly dry. Monday starts the hidden calm week with continued good weather. If you're here through next week, the conditions are lining up beautifully.
Spring break is a marathon, not a sprint. The families who burned every park day this week at full intensity are running on fumes right now. The families who paced themselves — rest days, resort breaks, strategic park choices — still have gas in the tank for the weekend.
And the ones who read this newsletter and shifted a day or two into the March 23–27 window? They're about to have the best park experience of the entire month while everyone else is either gone or waiting for Easter.
Timing is everything. And yours is about to be perfect.
See you tomorrow.
