Wednesday, March 18
Good morning.
The cold snap is over. Temperatures are climbing back into the upper 60s today and the 70s by tomorrow. Normal service has resumed.
Also resuming: full-strength spring break crowds. Lightning Lane Premier Pass is sold out at every park except Animal Kingdom through Friday. If you thought Tuesday's cold was going to slow things down for more than a day, spring break would like a word.
But there is something new opening today that most visitors won't know about β and it's one of the best additions to Disney World in months.
Here's what matters today.

The Garden View Tea Room Opens Today β And It Might Be the Hardest Reservation at Disney World Right Now
After being closed for six years, the Garden View Lounge at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort reopens today with a completely reimagined afternoon tea experience inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
The details: adults pay $79, kids pay $49. The menu features savory and sweet bites alongside a curated selection of premium tea blends, all served in a space that's been refreshed as part of the Grand Floridian's massive lobby transformation. The vibe is upscale, whimsical, and deliberately unhurried β basically the opposite of everything happening in the parks right now.
Initial reservations sold out almost immediately when they opened on February 19. But here's the thing worth knowing: Disney has consistently dropped new reservation batches in the days following recent restaurant openings. Beak & Barrel did the same thing β looked completely booked, then suddenly had availability a few days later as Disney scaled up operations.
The move: Check the My Disney Experience app this morning. And tomorrow morning. And Friday morning. Fresh availability is most likely to appear in the first week after opening. If you're staying at or near the Grand Floridian, this is one of the most unique dining experiences at Walt Disney World β and at $79, it's actually cheaper than most signature dining options.

β‘ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Lightning Lane Premier Pass Sold Out Almost Everywhere β Magic Kingdom is sold out through Friday at $449/person. Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and most Animal Kingdom dates are also gone. Multi Pass ($30β$40) is still available and covers most mid-tier rides. Rope drop + Multi Pass is your best combo this week.
The Hidden Calm Week Is Coming β We mentioned it last week: March 23β27 is a surprising pocket of lighter crowds between the Florida spring break wave and the Easter surge. No AP tiers are blocked out. If you have any flexibility, that's the window.
Olaf Draws! Announced for Hollywood Studios β A new version of the Animation Academy is coming this summer to The Magic of Disney Animation, with Olaf hosting a character drawing experience. Fun for families, and another reason the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard opening on May 26 is going to be a big deal.
Muppets Coaster Gets Exclusive Resort Guest Perk β Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets has been confirmed as part of the exclusive Disney resort hotel ride list when it reopens this summer. Resort guests will get early access β another reason to stay on-site if you're planning a summer trip.
Daily Disney Insider Tip
GEO 82: The adults-only lounge inside Spaceship Earth that most visitors walk right past.
There's a bar inside the big silver ball. Literally inside Spaceship Earth. It's called GEO 82 β named after the geodesic sphere and EPCOT's 1982 opening year β and it might be the best-kept secret at EPCOT right now.
It's 21-and-up only, reservations required, and tucked away near the Spaceship Earth post-show exit where most guests are speed-walking toward their next ride. Inside you'll find craft cocktails (the Brown Butter Old Fashioned is exceptional), a bourbon selection that would impress your most particular friend, small plates, panoramic views of World Celebration, and a fireworks experience that costs $179 per person but offers one of the most exclusive viewing angles in the park.
We were there this past weekend. The service was impeccable. The space feels like a love letter to EPCOT's history β warm metallics, Spaceship Earth design details everywhere, and the kind of quiet that doesn't exist anywhere else in a theme park at 2pm on a Saturday.
The move: Reservations are tough to get, but keep checking the app β they pop up, especially for lunch. Even if you only go for one drink, it's worth it. And if you're an EPCOT person who's done La Cava del Tequila a hundred times, this is your new spot.
π Todayβs Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom β Heavy. Premier Pass sold out. Spring break in full swing. The warming weather is pulling everyone back out after yesterday's cold. Rope drop or final 90 minutes.
EPCOT β Heavy. Festival crowds back to peak levels now that the weather has recovered. GEO 82 and the festival booths are your best bets for a quality break from the chaos.
Animal Kingdom β Moderate-Heavy. The only park where Premier Pass is still occasionally available. Rope drop Flight of Passage, then let the rest of the day breathe.
Hollywood Studios β Heavy. Rise, Tower, and Slinky Dog all pushing 60-90 minute waits by mid-morning. Arrive before park open or don't bother with headliners until after 7pm.
Strategy: It's mid-spring-break, everything is crowded, and the weather is cooperating again β which means no cold or rain relief this time. Your best weapons are rope drop, the last 90 minutes before close, and patience. Pick one park, commit to it, and don't try to park hop during the middle of the day.
π€ Day Weather Forecast for Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Trend: The cold is gone and it's not coming back anytime soon. Temperatures climb steadily through the weekend, landing right in that 78β82Β°F sweet spot that makes all-day park touring comfortable without the summer heat. Friday is shaping up as the best weather day of the week β again. If you've noticed a pattern of Fridays being the payoff day, you're paying attention.
Six years is a long time to close a tea room. But the Grand Floridian's Garden View Lounge reopening today is a reminder that some of the best Disney experiences aren't rides.
A quiet afternoon with good tea and Alice in Wonderland touches. A cocktail inside Spaceship Earth while everyone else is sprinting to Guardians. A cookie dough ice cream sandwich eaten standing up at Animal Kingdom because it's too good to sit down for.
The theme parks are the headliners. But the stuff around the edges β the lounges, the seasonal treats, the reservations nobody else thought to make β that's where the real insider advantage lives.
See you tomorrow.
