Monday, March 16
Good morning.
It is 61 degrees in Orlando tomorrow. Sixty-one. In March. At Disney World. Some of you packed exclusively tank tops and are about to have a very interesting character development arc at the hotel gift shop.
Meanwhile, spring break week one is fully underway, the Garden View Tea Room opens Wednesday, and tonight's EPCOT Extended Evening Hours might be the smartest two hours of your entire trip.
Let's get into it.
Here's what matters today.

The Week Ahead: Peak Spring Break, a Cold Snap, and 14-Hour Park Days
This is the first full week of Florida spring break at Disney World, and the parks are going to feel like it. Orange and Osceola County schools β the 300,000 students who live closest to Disney β are out this week. AP blockouts are in full effect. Lightning Lane Premier Pass will likely sell out daily at Magic Kingdom.
But here's what makes this week weird: the weather is doing the opposite of what spring break weather is supposed to do. After two weeks of near-record heat, a cold front is dropping Tuesday's high to 61Β°F β a 30-degree swing from last Wednesday. By Thursday you're back in the mid-70s. It's the kind of week where checking the forecast every morning isn't optional, it's strategy.
The upside? Magic Kingdom is open 9amβ11pm every day this week. That's 14 hours of park time if you want it. And with Happily Ever After at 9:30pm and double Starlight parades at 8:15pm and 10:30pm, the evening hours are loaded. Most families run out of gas by 8pm during spring break. The ones who pace themselves and come back for the last two hours ride everything with half the wait.
The move for the week: Tuesday is your wildcard day. The cold snap plus spring break crowds who packed for 85Β°F weather creates a natural thinning effect. Families with young kids will bail on outdoor-heavy parks. If you layer up and lean in, Tuesday could quietly be one of the better touring days of the month.

β‘ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Garden View Tea Room Opens Wednesday β The Grand Floridian's Alice in Wonderland-themed afternoon tea launches March 19. $79 adults, $49 kids. Reservations have been tight, but Disney has been releasing new batches after recent restaurant openings. Check the app Wednesday morning β fresh availability tends to drop on opening day.
Tomorrow Is Jacket Weather β Tuesday's high of 61Β°F will be the coldest day at Disney World in weeks. Pack a light jacket or hoodie. The parks will still be open and operating normally β but the families who didn't check the forecast will be miserable and some will leave early. That's your opening.
St. Patrick's Day Tomorrow at Disney Springs β Raglan Road hosts the Mighty St. Patrick's Festival with live Irish music, dancers, and a special menu. Walk-up bar seating is usually available if you arrive before 5pm. It's one of the best atmosphere nights of the year at Disney Springs β even if you're not Irish, the energy is worth the trip.
EPCOT Eggstravaganza Scavenger Hunt Is Live β The annual Easter egg hunt is back at EPCOT during the Flower & Garden Festival. Grab a map ($12) at Creations Shop and hunt for Disney character-themed eggs hidden around World Showcase. It's low-key one of the best activities for families with kids who need a break from ride lines β and the prize at the end is worth the hunt.
Daily Disney Insider Tip
Tonight's EPCOT Extended Evening Hours might be the best-kept secret of the week.
If you're staying at a Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resort, EPCOT is open exclusively for you tonight from 9pm to 11pm. That's two hours of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Frozen Ever After, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track with wait times that often drop to 10β15 minutes.
Most guests don't even know this perk exists. It's not heavily advertised, it's not on most planning blogs, and it doesn't show up on the standard park hours listing unless you dig into the app. You just... show up at EPCOT after 9pm with your resort credentials and walk onto rides.
If you're eligible and you skip this tonight, you're leaving the best two hours of your trip on the table.
π Todayβs Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom β Heavy. Monday of peak spring break week. No shortcuts today β rope drop or bust.
EPCOT β Heavy, then magical. Daytime is packed. But if you're eligible for Extended Evening Hours tonight (9β11pm), the park transforms into a completely different experience. Plan your day around making it to 9pm.
Animal Kingdom β Moderate-Heavy. Storms lingering from yesterday may thin morning crowds slightly. If rain holds off, it's a solid rope drop option β Safaris first, Flight of Passage second.
Hollywood Studios β Heavy. Spring break week hits this park hard. Everything major is indoors, which makes it the default choice for families on stormy days. Expect Rise of the Resistance waits north of 90 minutes by 10am.
Strategy: If you're EPCOT-eligible for Extended Evening Hours, build your whole day around ending there. Hit a different park this morning, take a midday break, then arrive at EPCOT around 7pm for festival food, Luminous at 9pm, and two hours of nearly empty rides after that.
π€ Day Weather Forecast for Lake Buena Vista, Florida
Trend: Today is the last of the wet stretch. Tomorrow is the outlier β genuinely cold by Orlando standards. Wednesday starts the climb back, and by Thursday you're in the mid-70s with low rain chances. Friday is shaping up to be the best all-around weather day of the week. Plan your biggest park day accordingly.
π― Final Take
Spring break weeks are supposed to be hot, crowded, and predictable. This one opens with storms, drops to 61 degrees on Tuesday, and then climbs back into the 70s by Thursday like nothing happened.
Disney World doesn't do boring weeks. It just does weeks where you either read the newsletter and showed up prepared, or you didn't and wondered why everyone else seemed to know something you didn't.
You know what you know. Use it.
See you tomorrow.
