But today we're talking about something that affects every future trip you'll ever plan: where you sleep. Specifically, why the four cheapest Skyliner resorts might be the smartest hotel decision at Walt Disney World.

Most first-time Disney visitors choose their resort based on theme, price, or whatever comes up first on the website. They end up at a resort with bus transportation, spend 45 minutes waiting for a ride to EPCOT, and assume that's just how Disney works.

The Disney Skyliner is a gondola transportation network that links four resorts directly to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios — no buses, no traffic, no guesswork. The one thing to know: The Skyliner only goes to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. For Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, you're still on buses. If your trip is heavily focused on those two parks, the Skyliner advantage matters less. But for most families doing all four parks, having two of them covered by gondola transportation — especially the two with the most competitive rope drops — is a significant edge.

The move: If you're booking a future Disney trip and you haven't considered a Skyliner resort, run the numbers. Pop Century often comes in $100-150 per night cheaper than deluxe resorts while offering transportation that's arguably better than what most deluxe guests get. Art of Animation is ideal for families with young kids who love the themed rooms. Caribbean Beach sits in the sweet spot between price and amenities. And Riviera is a legitimate deluxe experience with the best rooftop restaurant view on Disney property.
