Wednesday, May 6
Good morning.
Wednesday brings the first 92-degree day of the season to Lake Buena Vista, so consider today the official start of poncho-and-sunscreen season. Cast Member previews begin today for both Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Soarin' Across America, which means opening-day content is about to leak everywhere.
Flower & Garden is in its final month at EPCOT (closes June 1). And today's Top Story is about the 15-plus bookings most families don't find out about until they're up at 6 AM on their 60-day mark wondering why everything is already gone.
Here's what matters today.
🎯 Top Story

The bookings that open at midnight. Not 6 AM.
Most families spend their 60-day booking window fighting for a table at Cinderella's Royal Table or Space 220. That's the right instinct. But dining is one small corner of Disney's reservation system. There are dozens of experiences across the parks and resorts that require advance booking, and most families don't find out until they're up at 6 AM on their 60-day mark, refreshing the app, wondering why everything is already gone. It went on sale at midnight. They were six hours late.
Inside the parks, Savi's Workshop in Galaxy's Edge runs $274.99 to build your own lightsaber in a 20-minute immersive experience that sells out daily. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom does princess and knight makeovers. Capture Your Moment books a private 20-minute photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer for $50. Fireworks dessert parties include reserved viewing areas and food. DiveQuest at EPCOT lets certified scuba divers explore The Seas aquarium for $229 to $249.
The tours are where most families leave money on the table. Keys to the Kingdom at Magic Kingdom includes a walk through the utilidors, the underground tunnel system that runs beneath the park. Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom takes small groups across rope bridges and into a private savanna overlook with tapas and drinks for $199 to $209. Behind the Seeds at EPCOT is a one-hour guided greenhouse walk inside The Land pavilion for $35. Starlight Safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge runs a nighttime savanna tour with night-vision goggles.
Entertainment bookings fill fast too. Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil at Disney Springs. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness, the longest-running dinner show at Walt Disney World with limited seating. Private fireworks cruises on the lagoon starting at $499 for up to 10 guests on a pontoon.
Recreation rounds it out. Golf tee times at Disney's three championship courses. Guided catch-and-release fishing excursions. Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness. Amphicar tours at Disney Springs ($125). Spa treatments and poolside cabanas at select deluxe resorts.
The critical detail most families miss: Enchanting Extras open for booking at midnight Eastern, 60 days before your visit. Not 6 AM like dining. Midnight. Savi's Workshop and Wild Africa Trek sell out in minutes. If you're not logged into My Disney Experience at midnight on your 60-day mark, the best experiences are gone before your alarm goes off.
The rule is simple. If it has limited seats, a scheduled time slot, or a small group, it needs a reservation. And most of those reservations open 60 days out. The families who book the extras are the ones who come home with the stories nobody else has.

âš¡ Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Guests riding the reopened Big Thunder Mountain can now see directly into the Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land construction zone from the queue and portions of the ride. Construction walls are lower than expected in several spots, giving the first public views of steel framing and foundation work for what will be the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history.
An updated Magic Kingdom guidemap was released alongside Big Thunder's reopening, reflecting the new Frontierland layout, the removal of Tom Sawyer Island, and the closure of the Liberty Square Riverboat. Worth grabbing a fresh copy if you're in the park this week.
Disney's Animal Kingdom announced the arrival of several new baby animals this spring, including a baby giraffe on the Kilimanjaro Safaris savanna and new additions to the gorilla family at Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. Cast Members have confirmed the baby giraffe is already visible from the safari trucks during morning rides.
Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT received a summer schedule update. Magic Kingdom's Extended Evening Hours continue on Wednesday nights and EPCOT's on Monday nights through September, available to guests staying at Deluxe Resorts, DVC Villas, and select other hotels. Tonight is a Magic Kingdom Extended Evening Hours night - the park stays open until 1 AM for eligible guests.

Daily Disney Insider Tip
The Skyliner is one of the best rest stops on property, and you don't have to get off.
Board at EPCOT's International Gateway (between France and the United Kingdom), ride to Caribbean Beach, transfer to the Hollywood Studios line, ride to Hollywood Studios, and come right back. The full round trip takes about 30 minutes. The gondolas are enclosed, weather-protected, and air-conditioned with fans. There's no line most of the time. You sit down, you stop walking, and you get a slow aerial tour of the resort with views of Caribbean Beach, Riviera, the Boardwalk area, and both parks.
If you're staying at a Skyliner resort (Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Riviera), this doubles as free transportation to both parks and a mid-day reset. Ride it during the 1 PM to 3 PM dead zone when your feet are done and your kids need a break. By the time you get back, everyone's recharged and ready for the evening push.
📊 Today's Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom is moderate to heavy. Wednesday is historically one of the lighter weekdays, but Big Thunder's opening week and Extended Evening Hours tonight will pull extra traffic. TRON and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train hold real waits.
EPCOT is moderate. Flower & Garden continues its final month. Test Track, Guardians, and Frozen Ever After are all good standby targets today. Soarin' Around the World has 8 days left.
Animal Kingdom is light. Wednesday is historically the lightest day at this park. Strong rope drop for Flight of Passage. The new baby giraffe is drawing extra visitors to Kilimanjaro Safaris in the morning.
Hollywood Studios is heavy. Cast Member previews for the Muppets coaster may affect backstage operations. Rise of the Resistance and Slinky Dog Dash hold long waits as always.
Strategy: Animal Kingdom in the morning, EPCOT in the afternoon for Outdoor Kitchens and Luminous. If you're staying at a Deluxe Resort, tonight's Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom make it worth hopping over after 11 PM for walk-on rides.

🚢 The Porthole - Disney Cruise Line
If you've never considered a Disney cruise because you thought it was only for families with small kids, the Disney Wish might change your mind. The adults-only areas on the Wish are some of the best-designed quiet spaces in the fleet. The Quiet Cove pool deck, the Palo Steakhouse (an upgrade from the classic Palo), Enchanté by chef Arnaud Lallement (a Michelin-starred French restaurant at sea), and The Bayou (a Princess and the Frog themed lounge) are all reserved for guests 18 and older. The Wish sails year-round from Port Canaveral on 3- and 4-night Bahamian itineraries, making her the easiest Disney cruise to pair with a Walt Disney World trip. Port Canaveral is roughly an hour from the parks.
🌤 7-Day Weather Forecast — Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Trend: The heat is here. Low 90s through Friday, easing slightly into the upper 80s for the weekend. Mid-60s overnight lows keep rope drop comfortable. After 2 PM, you'll want shade, AC shows, and water. This is the week you start planning your day around the heat instead of around the rides.
🎯 Final Take
The families who have the best Disney trips are not the ones who spend the most. They're the ones who booked the right things at the right time.
A $35 Behind the Seeds tour. A $50 private photo session. A fireworks cruise on the lagoon. These are the moments that show up in the slideshow ten years later, not the 47th ride on Pirates. But they require one thing the rides don't: advance planning. A reservation. A calendar reminder. A midnight alarm on your 60-day mark.
Disney's best experiences don't wait for you. They fill up and disappear. The families who set the alarm are the ones who come home with the stories.
See you tomorrow.
