Happy Easter.
The parks are full. The Easter Bunny cavalcade is rolling down Main Street. Somewhere near Cinderella Castle a family is posing for a photo that will be their holiday card for the next nine months. And by tomorrow morning, half of them will be gone.
But we're not thinking about today's crowds. Today we're thinking about a date seven weeks from now that might be the single most important day on the 2026 Disney World calendar.
May 26.
Disney didn't just announce one new thing for the summer. They stacked everything on the same day. And if you're planning a trip this year and haven't circled that date yet, you're already behind.
Here's what matters today.

May 26, 2026. Here's what all goes live:
Soarin' Across America debuts at EPCOT. Brand new film. Brand new score. Brand new scents. All celebrating America's 250th anniversary with flyovers of the Grand Canyon, iconic cityscapes, and landscapes you've never seen on that screen before. This isn't a tweak โ it's a completely new ride experience replacing Soarin' Around the World permanently. Walt Disney Imagineering filmed more than a dozen locations for the new version.
One deadline worth noting: Soarin' Around the World closes permanently on May 13 to make way for the changeover. If riding the current version one last time matters to you, that's your cutoff.
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard opens at Hollywood Studios. This is the reimagined Animation Courtyard area, redesigned to feel like the actual Disney animation studio lot in Burbank. Inside it, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! debuts โ a new 20-minute stage show where Mickey and Minnie go on a road trip to gather Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto for a party. Later this summer, the same courtyard gets The Magic of Disney Animation, featuring Olaf Draws (a learn-to-draw class hosted by Olaf), character meet-and-greets, and an indoor playground.
Bluey and Bingo arrive at Animal Kingdom. Conservation Station becomes Bluey's Wild World โ an interactive experience with games pulled straight from the show (including a Bluey twist on Keepy Uppy), photo ops with Bluey and Bingo, and Australian animal encounters at a new area called Jumping Junction. The Wildlife Express Train reopens to get you there. This one stays beyond summer.
If you have kids under 8, this is the single biggest addition of the year. If you don't have kids, the train ride to Rafiki's Planet Watch is still one of the most peaceful 7 minutes at Disney World.
Cool Kids' Summer kicks off resort-wide. This is Disney's umbrella summer program running May 26 through September 8, and it's loaded:
Jessie's Roundup at the Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom โ a Toy Story hoedown with Jessie, Woody, and Bullseye. GoofyCore dance parties at CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT โ DJ-led games and dancing with the Goof Troop in air conditioning. Free water park admission for resort guests on check-in day (both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open). Character interactions during Early Entry at all four parks โ this is new for 2026 and exclusive to resort guests.
And four days earlier on May 22: The Mandalorian and Grogu mission launches on Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios โ timed to the movie's theatrical release. New mission, new storyline, same cockpit. If you're a Star Wars fan, this is the draw.
Why this matters for trip planning.
If you're booking a summer trip, the week of May 26 is the strategic sweet spot. By that date, Buzz Lightyear will have been open for seven weeks โ long enough to work through early kinks and lose the day-one crowds. Big Thunder Mountain should be back from its refurb with new track and new Rainbow Caverns effects. Every new summer experience launches day one. And the parks won't have hit true summer peak crowds yet (that comes in mid-June when most schools let out).
Yes, Memorial Day weekend itself will be packed. But the Tuesday-through-Thursday window of that week could be the perfect combination of new content and manageable crowds. By mid-June, all of this will still be there โ but so will every family in America.
The move: If you've been waiting for the right week to book a summer trip, stop waiting. The week of May 26 gives you everything new at once, summer deals are already bookable (free dining plan, $99/night resort rooms for Disney+ subscribers, After 2 PM tickets), and the calendar only gets more competitive from here.
Circle it. Book it. Then come back and tell us how Soarin' smelled.

โก Daily Disney QUICK HITS
Happy Easter from Magic Kingdom โ Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny are at the Liberty Square gazebo through today, 9am to 3:30pm. The Easter cavalcade is expected to run today โ line up 45-60 minutes early for a viewing spot. Easter services are held at Disney's Contemporary Resort conference rooms. After today, the Easter-specific activities are done for the year.
Tuesday's Temperature Drop: 69 Degrees โ Tuesday's forecast shows a 17-degree swing from today's 87 to a high of just 69. If you're still here Tuesday, pack layers. But also: 69 degrees with post-Easter crowds could deliver the shortest wait times you'll see until fall. Cooler weather thins Florida crowds like nothing else.
Mandalorian & Grogu Movie Opens May 22 โ Four days before the Smugglers Run mission launches, the movie hits theaters. If you're planning a late May trip, watching the movie before you ride the new mission will make the experience significantly more meaningful. The ride's new storyline directly ties to the film.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets: Still No Date โ Disney confirmed the reimagined coaster opens "summer 2026" but hasn't given an exact date. The ride closed March 2 and features an entirely new Muppets-themed soundtrack, queue, and Audio-Animatronics. If it opens by late June, it adds yet another reason to book a summer trip. We'll report the date the moment Disney announces it.

Daily Disney Insider Tip
Soarin' Around the World closes permanently on May 13. This is your last-ride deadline.
The current Soarin' film has been flying since 2016. Before that, it was the original Soarin' Over California from 2005. If you have sentimental attachment to the Around the World version โ the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall, the elephants over the Serengeti โ May 13 is the last day you'll ever experience it.
Disney needs the 13-day window between May 13 and May 26 to swap the film, calibrate the new scent systems, and test the new score. Once Soarin' Across America opens, the Around the World film is gone for good at EPCOT.
If this matters to you, plan accordingly. If your next trip is after May 26, your first ride will be the new version โ which, based on everything Disney has shown so far, looks spectacular. Either way, mark the dates.
๐ Today's Crowd Size Snapshot
Magic Kingdom โ Peak. Easter Sunday at Magic Kingdom. This is the heaviest single day of the entire Easter stretch. If you're here, lean into it โ cavalcade, castle photos, fireworks. This is a day to soak in the atmosphere, not chase ride counts.
EPCOT โ Heavy. Festival plus Easter Sunday. World Showcase is a slow crawl from noon to close. But the festival food and the Flower & Garden topiaries look their best today.
Animal Kingdom โ Moderate-Heavy. The most manageable park on Easter Sunday. Safaris in the early morning, shows midday, evening Pandora. The AK Easter strategy hasn't changed all week.
Hollywood Studios โ Heavy. Rise is the wildcard as always. Tower and Slinky Dog at rope drop, Runaway Railway mid-morning, and Toy Story Mania whenever the line looks reasonable.
Strategy: Today is the last day of peak. Tomorrow the exhale begins. If you have energy for one more big push, today is the day to use it โ especially at Magic Kingdom, where the Easter atmosphere is genuinely special. If you're running on fumes, take today easy and save your legs for the wide-open Monday and Tuesday we talked about yesterday.
๐ค 7-Day Weather Forecast โ Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Trend: Easter Sunday is the warmest day of the stretch at 87. Monday brings storms and the start of the cooldown. Tuesday and Wednesday drop to 69 โ genuinely cool for central Florida in April. If you're doing Tuesday at the parks, bring a light jacket for the morning and a hoodie for evening. By Thursday the temps start climbing back to normal. The cold front perfectly aligns with the crowd drop โ giving you lighter parks AND more comfortable weather. The calendar doesn't always hand you a gift like this.
๐ฏ Final Take
Disney could have spread these openings across the entire summer. A new ride in May. A new show in June. A new character experience in July. Drip it out. Keep the news cycle going.
Instead, they loaded the cannon and fired everything on May 26.
New Soarin'. New courtyard. New stage show. Bluey. Cool Kids' Summer. Free water park days. Character meet-and-greets during Early Entry. And four days earlier, the Mandalorian lands on Smugglers Run.
There hasn't been a single day with this many simultaneous launches at Disney World in years. Maybe ever.
The families who plan around it will have one of the best first-week-of-summer trips in Disney history. The families who show up in July and wonder why everything feels new? They'll have a great time too โ but they'll wish they'd been there for opening day.
May 26. Circle it.
See you tomorrow.
